Ricky Duane Medford – Obituary and Assessment Call

Rick Medford, 64,  passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017, in Bowie, TX.Ricky Duane Medford

Rick was born November 19,1952 in Haskell, TX to Duayne and Barbara (Holt) Medford.  He graduated from Stamford High School in 1972.  Rick attended Southwest Texas State College in San Marcos and in 1975 he entered the Game Warden Academy at Texas A&M University.  He married Ann Oliver Ray on April 8,1994 in Palo Pinto County.  Rick retired as a game warden captain in 2008 with 33 years of service. Rick was an integral part of the Silver Lakes Community.  Rick enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time in the mountains.   He was known to his family as Grandad Honey. Rick loved mentoring people and was a faithful Christian.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Duayne and Barbara Medford. Rick is survived by his wife, Ann Medford of Sunset; children, Eric Medford of Kamay, TX; Julie Averitt and husband Ryan of Randlett, OK; Lezli Guinn and husband Jason of Graham, TX; Jordan Ray and wife Lindsey of Plano,TX; grandchildren, Maddie; Tyler; Caleb; Dylan; Emma; Austin; Derek; Sophia; Molly; A.J; brother, Steven Medford and wife Sherri of Abilene, TX; nephews, Wesley Medford of Abilene; Brandon Lazarus of Charlotte, NC; niece, April Lazarus of Nashville, TN; beloved aunts and uncles; and sister-in-law, Jan Lazarus and husband Mark of Knoxville, TN.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Mutual Association (TPW Mutual Association) regrets to inform you of the death of one of our members, Rick Medford.

Rick became a member of the TPW Mutual Association on May 14th, 1979. He retained his membership up until his death on March 4th, 2017.  A check in the amount of $5,000 was delivered to Mrs. Annette Medford.

An assessment in the amount of $20.00 will be necessary to bring the policy fund back into balance to have payments on hand for other members in case of death. Please make this payment by the due date listed above.
