Kenneth Ray Jackson – Obituary and Assessment Call

Kenneth Ray JacksonKenneth Ray Jackson, 58, of Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away July 2, 2011. He was born December 12, 1952, to parents Gene Kenneth Jackson and Bernice Rachel "Ray" Jacobs in Lubbock, Texas. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2011, in Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel with Dr. Michael Harbour of North Street Church of Christ officiating.

Police department and game warden honors will be performed by the Nacogdoches Police Department and Nacogdoches game wardens. Family will receive guests for visitation from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2011. A private interment will follow at a later date.

Kenneth Jackson was a "Texan" who appreciated the outdoors and a man who deeply respected life, the environment and the creatures therein.

He pursued a lifetime career dedicated to protecting all forms of life. He retired as a Texas game warden and began a new second career in law enforcement as a warrant officer. He was a hard worker, fun-loving, an avid animal lover, handsome, loving and a devoted, caring and respected father and grandfather. He was affectionately known as "Daddy-O."

Kenneth will be deeply missed by all of those who have been blessed to cross his path. Kenneth is survived by sons, Weston Jackson and wife, Resha, of Nacogdoches, Texas, Travis Jackson, and wife, Emile, of Miami, Florida; grandson, Alister Jackson, and granddaughter, Adrian Jackson, both of Nacogdoches; brother, Gary Jackson and wife, Barbara, of Euless, Texas, sister, Sherry Morris and husband, Tom, of Rio Dosa, New Mexico; numerous nieces and nephews; and most dear and loved one Roxanne Staton. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Larry Jackson. Pallbearers will be Rex Mayers, Gary Barnes, Jay Smith, Doug Spivey, Steve Smith and Joe Adams.

Honorary pallbearers will be Nacogdoches law enforcement and Parks and Wildlife game wardens. Memorial donations can be made to Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation, 1902 N, Akard Street, Dallas , Texas, 75201 and/or American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 424 E. 92nd St., New York, New York 10128-6804. Ken became a member of the Game and Fish Mutual Association on January 20, 1983. He retained his membership up until his death on July 2, 2011.

A check in the amount of $5,205 will be delivered to Ken's sons, Weston and Travis, on July 8, 2011.

An assessment in the amount of $16.00 will be necessary to bring the policy fund back into balance to have payments on hand for two members in case of death. Please make this payment by August 12, 2011.
