Grab the kids and text your friends: Falls Fest 2013 is Oct. 19 from 10-4 at McKinney Falls State Park. Located in Austin’s backyard, McKinney Falls will host a variety of events for all ages.

This year's archeology theme will feature The Buffalo Soldiers, archery, atlatl throwing, fishing, crafts, a geocaching challenge, historical hikes, animal talks, contest prizes and more. The event is free after park admission and open to the public. Children under the age of 13 are admitted without charge.
