Taste the bounty of nature at Galveston Island State Park. Ranger Lisa will lead a short presentation and prairie hike about edible plants. Relive the journey of natives and early settlers, foraging and celebrating the season. Modern applications for naturalists knowledge.
What to expect:
Valuable information on foraging in season as well as urban and modern foraging techniques
Nature Center presentation by Ranger Lisa
Short prairie and pond hike (.2 miles)
What to bring:
Be sure to get a park pass (either from park office, or self-pay station)
Questions about local flora
Clothing suitable for being outdoors
