Join us for an easy bird walk of the wooded camping area, listen to the birds, and maybe even learn a few new things.
Join a park host for a woodland bird walk. Participants will look for migratory songbirds and resident birds on this walk.
When: 8:30 a.m.
Where: Parking lot next to campsite 157.
Parking: Park at Turk's Cap Trail Parking Lot (next to site 157), or the Tent Camping Parking Area.
What are we doing: Bird-watching and walking.
Things to bring: Binoculars, water, sunscreen, bug spray, shoes suitable for walking, a camera, and dress in weather-appropriate clothing.
Walks may be canceled or postponed in event of rain.
There is no fee for attending this program although park entrance is required. Entrance fees are $5 per person over the age of 13, children 12 and under are free. Entry is free with a current Texas State Park Pass. Appropriate for all ages and all skills of birders. We do have a few pairs of binoculars available for use during the program.
