Mt. Bike 101 Clinic and Ride

Join Chris Kichura, REI bicycle tech, for this beginner mountain biking program. 9AM – Noon. Learn basic terminology and major bike components, what equipment should be carried while mountain biking and what problems can occur while riding trails.  Also learn how to change a flat tire, how to check on a pre-ride inspection and how to conduct your own inspection. The clinic will be followed by a guided ride on one or both of the Frontcountry trails, depending on group abilities.  During the ride you will learn basic riding skills such as shifting, braking, going down hills, and climbing hills.  Mountain bike and helmet required for the guided ride.  Dress for the weather; bring plenty of water, a snack, sun protection, and a helmet. Program open to ages 18 and older; no pets please. Reservations required and will be accepted through Noon Friday, March 3, 2017. Class size limited to the first 20 who sign up.
