Native Plant Walk with Bill Carr
Sun, April 09, 2017
NEW START TIME!
Join Texas botanist and author Bill Carr, one of the foremost authorities on the native plants of Central Texas, for a stroll around the natural area. We will be looking at anything and everything of interest -- from trees and shrubs down to grasses and sedges (and probably even some insects, amphibians and reptiles!) Participation is limited to the first 12 people who sign up! Open to ages 14 and older; participants under 18 must be accompanied by their parent or guardian; no pets please. All participants must be able to hike over broken, rocky terrain with some changes in elevation. Wear sturdy shoes and weather appropriate clothing; bring water (1 liter per person), and a snack if you like. Meet at the rainwater harvesting tower at the GCSNA Visitor’s Center. Reservations are required and will be accepted thru Noon April 7, 2017. Reserve your spot online at http://friendsofgc.org/events/. Sorry, no group reservations. Include name, age if under 18, e-mail address and telephone number for each reservation. Subject to cancellation. For more information, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call (210) 688-9055, ext 2009. Natural Area entrance fees apply. IMPORTANT: Be sure to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start of this program; if the natural area is experiencing unusually heavy visitation you may get caught waiting in line to get past the Fee Booth, and we’d hate for you to be late to the program!
