Join us for a special break-out session that focuses on the life of the only female Buffalo Soldier!
Freed slave Cathay Williams lived and served as a man for two years with the 38th regiment of the U.S. black Cavalry (Buffalo Soldiers). Hear her largely untold story of courage and perseverance and learn more about the African-American women and soldiers in the 19th century American West.
This talk is part of our Buffalo Soldier Remembrance Day, and maximum capacity for the talk is 25 people. No reservations are needed. Cost is $9 for adults (ages 13 and over), $2 for children (ages 5-12).
