National Trails Day

Dinosaur Valley State Park is celebrating National Trails Day by offering several ranger lead hikes. Please see the list of offered hikes below. All hiking skill levels welcome.
8:00am - Prairie Hike - This hike will lead visitors along prairie trails and through creek crossings to show the importance of the prairie ecosystem. Meet at track site #2.
10:00am - Habitat Hike - This hike will focus around the riparian zones in the park. Join our seasoned veteran Park Ranger Kathy Lenz for a fun and informative hike along the river. Meet at the park store.
2:00pm – Ashe Juniper Hike – 2 hour; Intermediate level hike
This hike will focus on the Ashe Juniper tree and its role in the Texas ecosystem. Various grasses and flowers will be pointed out for visitors to study. Meet in the trail head parking lot (next to the campground).
5:00pm - Birding Hike - This hike will help visitors see and learn about the birds that call Dinosaur Valley State Park home. Meet in the trail head parking lot (next to the campground).
