Nature journaling is a way to keep track of the interesting things you encounter in the world around you. It also provides a place to record your thoughts and an opportunity to learn about plants, animals, and the world around you.

Nature Journaling can be many different things people. For some people it is a way to capture the feelings that an encounter made them feel. For others it may be a sketch book of the natural world around them. Nature journaling can also be a way to learn about the world around you.
For this program individuals will pick a creature, plant, or memorable experience from their stay at Goose Island and put it to paper. Field guides will be provided to help identify the things you saw, or help you remember what it looked like. The direction of your nature journal will be personal, there is no right or wrong way to journal.
Helpful things to bring: A journal, pen or pencil, and your desired media. The park will provide crayons and field guides, and paper for individuals with out a journal. Remember to dress appropriate for the weather and bring anything that you think you may need.
