Join as we present Dance Across Texas - San Jacinto Ball. Fanthorp Inn focuses on dance in Texas during the days when music along with dancing was one of the few opportunities to socially interact and enjoy the company of others. Citizens looked forward to these events and an opportunity to show their finest clothes, behavior and manners. Days, if not weeks, were spent preparing for and anticipating the parties.
You’re invited to join in as costumed guides present, teach and perform the popular dances of the period. So put on your dancing shoes and come be part of the fun.
Presentation will be ongoing throughout the day and will last approximately 35 to 40 minutes.
This program is open to all ages but children must be accompanied by an adult. Dress appropriately for the season as the presentation takes place in a period setting. Held at Fanthorp Inn State Historic Site, 579 Main Street, Anderson, TX 77830. Program subject to cancellation.
