Oodles and Oodles of Bugs & Beetles at the 27th Annual Bay Area Volkswagen Car Show
San Jacinto Battleground will be the site of the Bay Area Volkswagen Club’s 27th Annual “Monumental Bug Bash” on Sunday May 7th, 2017. The park gates will open at 9:00 a.m. to the public, along with “oodles and oodles” of “bugs,” “beetles,” and numerous other Volkswagen vehicles.
Pre-registration for VW owners will be conducted through 9:00 a.m. but regular registration will continue until the awards are passed out at 4:00 p.m. For information on registration of your VW please call David Saucier at (832)205-2300 or visit the Bay Area VW Club website at http://www.bayareavwclub.com.
Everyone is invited to attend and enjoy this day-long presentation of these unique and often classic vehicles. If you have an old VW or just want to come and see the show, bring a picnic lunch and make a day of it. Or food, snacks and drinks may be purchased at the show.
Spectators are admitted free of charge to the Monumental Bug Bash but if you would like to visit the Battleship USS TEXAS, admission fees are $12.00 adults (12 years of age and older), $6.00 seniors 65 and up, $3.00 (children ages 5-11) and free (children 4 years of age and under). The San Jacinto Museum of History is located in the San Jacinto Monument, and is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. There is no charge to tour the museum, but there is a nominal fee to see “Texas Forever!! The Battle of San Jacinto!” in the Jesse Jones Theater, a 35-minute movie presentation and take the elevator 489 feet up to observation deck that overlooks all of San Jacinto Park.
