ALAN HENRY Water stained; 63–66 degrees; 9.88’ low. Black bass are fair on Senkos, Rat–L–Traps, shakyheads and Texas rigs. Crappie are fair to good on jigs under a slip cork. Catfish are fair on chartreuse (use Worm–Glo) nightcrawlers.
AMISTAD Water murky; 65–69 degrees; 28.75’ low. Black bass are good on crankbaits, jerkbaits, soft plastics, and jigs. Striped bass are fair on slabs, small crankbaits, and spoons. White bass are good on slabs, small crankbaits, and minnows. Crappie are fair on live minnows up Devil’s River in the trees. Catfish are fair on cheesebait, shrimp, and nightcrawlers over baited holes. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch. Everyone in a boat must have a Mexico fishing license (if fishing the Mexico side) whether fishing or not.

ATHENS Water lightly stained; 63–67 degrees; 0.48’ high. Black bass are good on Texas rigged soft plastics and hollow body frogs. Crappie are good on minnows and white jigs. Catfish are good on trotlines and cut shad.
BASTROP Water stained; 64–68 degrees. Black bass are fair on dark soft plastics, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are fair on stinkbait, shrimp, and minnows. Yellow catfish are slow.
BELTON Water murky; 62–66 degrees; 11.70’ low. Black bass are good on Rat–L–Traps and spinnerbaits. Hybrid striper are good on spoons. White bass are fair on minnows and Li’l Fishies. Crappie are excellent on minnows around structure under lights at night. Channel and blue catfish are good on hot dogs. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines and throwlines baited with live perch.
BOB SANDLIN Water murky; 62–66 degrees; 0.35 high. Black bass are good on Texas rigged lizards and craws. White spinnerbaits effective as well. Crappie are fair on minnows. White bass are good on minnows. Catfish are good on trotlines.
BONHAM Water stained, 63–68 degrees; 0.13’ low. Black bass are fair on crankbaits, spinnerbaits and chatterbaits, jigs and soft plastics. Crappie are fair on minnows around bridges and boat docks. Catfish are fair with cut bait around creeks.
BRAUNIG Water stained. Black bass are good on crankbaits and dark soft plastic worms in the reeds and near the jetty and dam. Striped bass are good on liver and shad near the pier. Redfish are fair down rigging silver spoons near the jetty and dam. Channel catfish are very good on liver, shrimp, cheesebait, and cut bait. Blue catfish are good on cut bait in 15–20 feet.
BRIDGEPORT Water stained, 62–67 degrees; 23.99’ low. Black bass are good on Megabass S Cranks in fire craw and secret gill. Crappie are good on minnows and white jigs. White bass are good on slabs. White bass are excellent on minnows, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits in 2–6 feet. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are slow. Blue catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.
BUCHANAN Water murky; 62–66 degrees; 31.79’ low. Black bass are fair on pumpkin Curb’s jigs, jerkbaits, and Carolina rigged JDC lizards along break lines in 15–25 feet. Striped bass are good trolling white/chartreuse Curb’s striper jigs and crankbaits. White bass are fair on slabs, and trolling crankbaits at the mouths of creeks. Crappie are good on minnows over brush piles in 12–15 feet. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are slow.
CADDO Water stained to muddy; 63–68 degrees; 1.95’ high. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits and bluegill pattern swim jigs. White and yellow bass are good on slabs. Catfish are fair on cut shad and trotlines.
CALAVERAS Water stained. Black bass are good on dark soft plastic worms and crankbaits in reed beds. Striped bass are very good on cut perch and shad along the shoreline. Redfish are fair down rigging silver spoons near the dam in 15–20 feet. Channel and blue catfish are very good on live bait, shrimp, and prepared bait near the railroad trestle. CANYON LAKE Water murky; 64–68 degrees; 11.01’ low. Black bass are fair on buzzbaits, watermelon jigs, and watermelon red soft plastic worms in 20–25 feet. Striped bass are fair trolling white Curb’s striper jigs. White bass are fair jigging Pirk Minnows in the main river channel. Smallmouth bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are slow.
CEDAR CREEK Water stained to muddy; 63–67 degrees; 0.04’ high. Black bass are good on squarebill crankbaits and Texas rigged creature baits. White bass are good on minnows. Hybrid striper are good on minnows. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are good on prepared bait.
CHOKE CANYON Water stained; 62–66 degrees; 28.10’ low. Black bass are good on white spinnerbaits and heavy jigs in grass. White bass are good on minnows and Li’l Fishies. Crappie are fair on minnows. FAIRFIELD Fishing has been slow since the fish kill in September of 2010. TPWD has discontinued stocking the lake after another kill in early September 2011. Redfish and black bass survived the kill in limited numbers.
