A copy of the Biotic Provinces of Texas and the outline of the state were scanned and digitized to create a dxf file. This dxf file was registered and rectified to the county coverage in the archive to create an ARC/INFO coverage. XTools Split Polygon command was used to split the state of Texas outline (1:24,000) in the TPWD GIS Archive with the bioln shapefile in the TPWD GIS Archive to create a new file. The coverage TexasBioticProvinces was created on March 23, 2010.The attribute ProvName (Province Name) was added to the new polygon file. The ArcToolbox command DISSOLVE was used to consolidate the polygons and created this file.
