Oh, Christmas Tree

STONEWALL—Katie (far left) and Aaron (middle) Floyd of Lakeway, TX, stand with their children around an old-fashioned Christmas Tree inside the farm house at Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm, while attending the 43rd Annual Lighting of the Christmas Tree at LBJ State Park and Historic Site last night.

Luci Baines Johnson, the youngest daughter of former President Lyndon B. Johnson and Lady Bird Johnson, was also in attendance at the event, which marked the Centennial anniversary of Lady Bird's birthday as well.

Almost 800 visitors attended the tree lighting, which was started by President Johnson and Lady Bird back on December 23, 1970. Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm, which is located on site at LBJ State Park, was decorated for a turn-of-the-century Christmas, with candlelight tours, cookies and interpretive demonstrations led by park staff in period costume.
