Fish On!

CONROE, Texas –Bassmaster Elite Tournament tour professional Brandon Card of Caryville, TN, holds up a keeper-sized largemouth bass during Thursday’s Pro-Am day, which kicked off the Toyota Texas Bass Classic on Lake Conroe.

Tomorrow marks the beginning of the tournament, where the top 50 bass fishing pros from three tournament circuits clash to compete for $100,000. The Classic also raised $250,000 to benefit Texas Parks and Wildlife’s public fishing programs. The second photo shows Texas Bass Classic president J.C. Fassino (left) and TPWD Inland Fisheries Chief of Management Dave Terre holding the symbolic big check.

Also scheduled for Friday’s events are a large vendor and outdoor activity fair, followed by a live concert by country music star Dierks Bentley at the Lone Star Convention Center and Expo. Tickets to the event are free and are available at www.toyotatexasbassclassic.com
