Flat Out Fishing in Galveston May 7

AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation, Anheuser-Busch, Coastal Conservation Association Texas are holding a special fishing event on Saturday, May 7 in Galveston to help anglers enjoy and succeed in fishing in and around Galveston Bay. Some of Texas’ most recognized fishing experts, outdoors enthusiasts, and scientists will be providing information to all anglers to safely and successfully boat and fish the bay waters of Texas.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and presentations begin at 8:15 a.m. at the CLB Auditorium on the Texas A&M Galveston Campus.

Speakers and topics for the event include the following:

  • Boats, Trailers & Outboard Maintenance: Mark Price, Reynolds' Marine, Baytown
  • Global Positioning System: Kirk Blood, TPWD Sabine,
  • Boating Ethics: Jeff Winchester, TPWD Galveston
  • Artificial Lures and More: Capt Brent Burdett
  • Sport Fish Life Histories: Glenn Sutton & Leslie Williams, TPWD Galveston
  • Live Bait Fishing Techniques: Capt. Bob "Mangus" Drisgill
  • Preserve the Moment, Capturing Photos that Last: Larry Bozka, Outdoors Writer

Other presenters include Capt. Charles Foster, knot tying, GO TEXAN program, Texas Sea Grant Program, Texas A&M University Galveston and the Coastal Conservation Association Texas.

If you pre-register, please include a list of all names in your party.

You may register at the event. Registration is $20 per individual and $10 per additional family member. Children younger than age 17 get in free with an adult. All proceeds from Flat Out Fishing will go to the Parks and Wildlife Foundation of Texas to support the Crab Trap Cleanup program.
