LIVINGSTON – Birds of prey will soon soar overhead at Lake Livingston State Park for a unique educational program.

The park has partnered with EarthQuest, a nonprofit environmental education organization, to offer a fascinating program with live hawks, falcons, eagles and owls. An EarthQuest falconer will deliver two presentations with the birds on March 26.

During each presentation, the falconer will showcase the birds of prey and the adaptations that strengthen these masters of the sky. Many of the birds will then take to the sky to show off their amazing skills of flight and demonstrate how they spot and catch their prey.

The first presentation begins at 10 a.m., and the other begins at 3 p.m. Between the two presentations, falconers and rangers will be on hand to take photos, answer questions and share information about the birds.

EarthQuest is providing park visitors this experience at no cost, though the organization will accept donations to further their educational mission and provide rescue and care for birds of prey.

Regular park entrance fees of $5 per adult will apply. Children 12 and under are always free.
