BURNET— The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will hold a public meeting March 9 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. to address future development at Inks Lake State Park Complex, which includes Inks Lake State Park, Longhorn Cavern State Park and Park Road 4.

The meeting will be held at the Burnet County Courthouse on 220 South Pierce Street in Burnet.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss preliminary ideas proposed in the new public use plan for the Inks Lake State Park Complex including facilities and recreational use of new areas. These plans will be presented in detail and a map of the facilities and public use will be available for viewing. A public question and answer period will follow the presentation.

Proposed facility and use concepts for Inks Lake State Park are focused on the former golf course area, existing campgrounds and day use areas, and the trail network.

At Longhorn Cavern State Park, proposals include the main developed area, the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) interpretive elements, and the trail network.

Projected concepts for Park Road 4 would be the CCC interpretive elements and the trail network.
