Come to the First Game Warden Tweetalong

AUSTIN – Texas game wardens will conduct their first-ever virtual patrol ridealong via Twitter over the Labor Day weekend.

The wardens will give the public a first-hand look at what happens on a typical opening dove season shift in their tweet-along on Sunday, September 1.

Throughout that day, the agency’s technology warden, also a commissioned officer, will join a warden in Travis County and tweet continuously what happens that day.  The public is invited to follow along at

Special Operations Chief Grahame Jones conceived the idea because he wanted to give the public a better idea of what officers face on a given shift.

“I think showing the public first-hand what our game wardens do will help build relationships,” Jones said.
