Becoming a Partner with TFFC

Becoming an AmBASSador

AmBASSadors are volunteers who donate their time and talents to enable the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center to offer more and better services to its visitors.

Ambassadors work with children at the casting pond, assist with tours of the facility and give general assistance to visitors. Some with special talents or interests help construct and maintain exhibits such as the bee house. Often the diver feeding the fish during the dive show is a volunteer with scuba certification.

If you are 16 years of age or older, are responsible, have a positive attitude and can donate at least eight hours a month, we’d love to talk to you about becoming a part of the TFFC volunteer family. Here are two ways to get connected:

  • Contact volunteer coordinator Craig Brooks at (903) 670-2222 or write for an application to Volunteer Coordinator, Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center, 5550 F.M. 2495, Athens, TX 75752.
  • If you are already a volunteer for Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, go to the volunteer signup page to find opportunities at TFFC.
