Volunteer leading a program.

You don't need a naval or museum background to volunteer. We offer a wide range of volunteer experiences.

  • Restoration:  Do you like working with your hands? Help us restore the ship and its artifacts to the way they looked when USS Texas was on active duty in the U.S. Navy.
  • Curatorial Support:   Research, file, catalogue artifacts, and help install exhibits.
  • Interpretation:  Share the ship’s history through guided tours, demonstrations and programs.
  • Special Event Support:  Assist with special events.

If you don't see something that interests you, contact the ship’s volunteer coordinator at (281) 479-2431, ext. 239.
