2 1/2 c flour
1 1/2 c cornmeal
1/2 c sugar
4 t baking powder
1 t salt
2 c milk
1/2 c butter
1 can creamed corn or 1 c fresh
1 small can green chilies, diced
- If cooking at home, preheat oven to 400.
- Combine dry ingredients. Add wet ingredients into the mix. Stir and pour into 12-inch Dutch oven.
- Bake 25–30 minutes, until lightly browned and crusty on top.
- If cooking over coals, place 9–10 beneath the oven and 6–8 on top. Bake the same length of time, periodically checking both the doneness of the bread and the heat from the coals.
