Horses are allowed in the North Concho and Bald Eagle camping areas. The North Concho sites have pens; you must bring portable pens for the Bald Eagle area.

Primitive Campsites (Backpack)

Distance ranges from five to 20 miles. Sites are in the River Bend section and are accessible by foot, horseback, bike or vehicle. Half of the sites are reservable, and half are first-come, first-served. Most areas have water spigots and pit toilets. Everything that is packed in must be packed out.
