Alan Henry
GOOD. Water clear; 71 degrees; 4.28 feet below pool. Crappie are good in 15-25 feet of water on minnows. Report by The Bait Shop, Post, Texas.
Arrowhead
GOOD. Water lightly stained; 76 degrees; 4.61 feet below pool. Fishing has been hit-or-miss. The influx of water that came into the lake has scattered the fish making it difficult to pattern the fish. They could be caught deep or shallow on fresh cut shad or prepared baits. Most of the crappie have finished spawning, transitioning to deeper water for the summer pattern, but some can be caught shallow. Report by Brandon Brown, Brown’s Guide Service.
Cisco
GOOD. Water stained; 72 degrees; 11.69 feet below pool. The largemouth bass have really been doing good this week hitting top water. A few people are having luck on flathead catfish in the creeks with goldfish. Report by Lake Cisco Rentals.
Coleman
SLOW. Water stained; 70 degrees; 3.05 feet below pool. The lake has risen 6 feet in a week which can slow the bite until the water stabilizes. Before the rise in water bass reports were good.
Ft. Phantom Hill
GOOD. Water stained; 70 degrees; 6.17 feet below pool. The lake is still on the rise. This typically slows the bite until the lake stabilizes. Crappie were biting shallow on jigs and minnows.
Greenbelt
FAIR. Water normal stain; 65 degrees; 46.19 feet below pool. Fishing is holding steady. Crappie are fair in shallow water on jigs and minnows. Sand bass are good in shallow water. Largemouth bass are good on soft plastics. A few catfish are being caught. Walleye are slow but the quality is good.
Hubbard Creek
GOOD. Water Stained; 70 degrees; 11.93 feet below pool. Fishing patterns are holding steady. Crappie fishing slowed on brush piles.
Meredith
FAIR. Water stained; 64 degrees; 45.97 feet below pool. Fishing patterns are consistent with some rain in the forecast to start the weekend off. Bass are good on minnows and artificials. Catfish are fair with crawlers, minnows, chicken liver and frozen shad. Crappie are fair with artificial baits and minnows. White bass are good on just about anything. Trout are slow on powerbaits, minnows, worms, small spinners, spoons and flies. Walleye are good to excellent on minnows, grubs, and other artificial baits. The bite on all species seems to be improving, with the exception of trout in the stilling basin. May and June are by far the best months to catch fish. Millers Creek
GOOD. Water stained; 70 degrees; 2.77 feet below pool. Water level increased 3-5 feet in the last week. Gar are spawning near the dam. Blue catfish have been caught near the dam while anglers were targeting crappie with jigs. Crappie are fair in brush piles in 10 feet or more. Largemouth bass are slow, targeting recently submerged areas shallow. Hybrids and white bass can be caught trolling crankbaits.
Nasworthy
FAIR. Water slightly stained; 81 degrees. 0.58 feet below pool. The bass bite has been good on white chatterbait or spinnerbaits early morning and evening. Midday flipping soft plastics around reed bases in 1-3 feet of water is the ticket to catch shaded up largemouth bass. Also look out for the shad spawn as predatory fish are keying in on this pattern. Crappie were good around boat docks on chartreuse jigs and catfish were fair on cut bait and stink bait around river channel bends. Report provided by the Angelo State Fishing Team.
O.C. Fisher
SLOW. Water stained; 65 degrees; 52.20 feet below pool. Few reports and anglers fishing due to low lake levels.
O.H. Ivie
GOOD. Water slightly stained; 74 degrees; 29.67 feet below pool. Lake is up 2 feet. Largemouth bass are good with catches up to 9 pounds on topwaters shallow early in the mornings then good on 10 inch worms, Hags F6.5 and F8, Rage MagCutters in PlumApple, redbug and green pumpkin off ledges and deeper timber later in the day. White bass are still around midlake on walking baits, flukes and square bills in shad patterns. Crappie slow and scattered in big timber on minnows. Catfish are still good in 5 feet or less on stink and cheese baits with rod and reels. Report by Wendell Ramsey, Ramsey Fishing.
Oak Creek
SLOW. Water lightly stained; 76 degrees; 16.23 feet below pool. Fishing patterns are similar. Black bass are good on plastic creature baits and stick baits in watermelon purple swirl or green pumpkin, and squarebill crankbaits. Crappie bite is improving on crappie jigs. Catfish are good on cut carp and shad. The trot line anglers are having success with live bait. Report by Bronte Guns and Tackle Pro Staff.
Possum Kingdom
GOOD. Water clear; 76 degrees; 0.24 feet below pool. Stripers are fair to good in 30-70 feet of water. Live bait is still the most consistent way to put fish in the boat, but some can be caught using white, chartreuse, and silver artificials. Sand bass are fair and scattered in small groups in 10-20 feet of water. Use live shad or small slabs and jigs white, and silver are good colors. Catfish are still fair with cut shad in 30-40 feet of water. Water clarity is steady at 2-10 feet of visibility. The north end of the lake is extremely muddy. Report by TJ Ranft, Ranft Guide Service. Bass are good early in the morning with topwater lures. Fish are transitioning to early summer patterns with fish shallow to 14-20 feet of water. Just about any lure choice is working. Proctor
SLOW. Water stained; 65 degrees; 6.34 feet below pool. People are having good luck right now with stripers and channel catfish. Crappie and shad have been a little scarce. Five boat ramps are open. The only ones that are not open are Copperas Day Use and Promontory Campground (SW).
Spence
SLOW. Water stained; 75 degrees. 47.88 feet below pool. Black bass are good flipping jigs or vibrating jigs into the shallows. Crappie are reported to be slow. Catfish are fair to good on cut bait in deeper pockets. Report by Bronte Guns and Tackle Pro Staff.
Stamford
FAIR. Water stained; 65 degrees; 0.32 feet above pool. Fishing is fair and the pattern is steady as water continues to come into the lake. Crappie are fair in shallow water with crappie jigs. Largemouth bass are in similar areas as the crappie hitting the crappie jigs. Channel catfish are fair casting minnows on the rocks.
Twin Buttes
GOOD. Water stained. 76 degrees; 33.88 feet below pool. Catfish are fair in 8 feet of water and deeper. Crappie are still scattered and slow. White bass are occasionally chasing shad on the surface, but can be found in open water hugging the bottom. Report by Captain Michael Peterson, 4 Reel Fun Guide Service.
White River
FAIR. Water normal stain; 70 degrees; 20.56 feet below pool. Crappie are fair using minnows on brush piles. Catfish are being caught on cut bait, minnows and worms from the docks or banks. White bass can be caught trolling near the island with a crankbait.
