Robert Paul Schmid, II – Obituary and Assessment Call

Robert Paul Schmid, IIRobert Paul Schmid, II passed away on July 29, 2014 in a work-related accident. He was 57. Rob was born to Bob and Pat Schmid on February 16, 1957 in Louisburg, Kansas. He served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Argentina, Newfoundland.

In 1991, the family moved to Waller, Texas where Rob built and managed Simaron Tilapia Farm until 2007. In 2008, Rob began working for Texas Parks and Wildlife managing A.E. Woods Fish Hatchery.

Rob was a true lover of nature and the outdoors. He was an avid kayaker/river rat, honing his skills over many years with Boy Scouts and his close-knit group of kayaking friends. Rob has been recognized on a number of occasions for his contributions to the aquaculture community through his participation in the Texas Aquaculture Association and World Aquaculture Association. Rob was also a great artist, painting and creating sculptures and other creations from supplies scavenged by him during his trips down the river, like the Lost Soles displays at the San Marcos Nature Center.

Rob is survived by his wife, Cindy, daughter Sara, son Taylor, son-in-law J.W., daughter-in-law Lindsay, grandsons Brady, Elliott and another soon-to-be-born, as well as his parents and sister, Krista Lee and her husband Scott.

A private visitation has been scheduled for the family. A memorial celebration is being planned for a future date to honor Rob and his amazing legacy.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Mutual Association (TPW Mutual Association) regrets to inform you of the death of one of our members, Robert Paul Schmid, II.

Rob became a member of the TPW Mutual Association on November 10, 2011. He retained his membership up until his death on July 29, 2014. Additional information on Robert is on page 2 of this assessment letter. A check in the amount of $5,000 was delivered to Mrs. Cynthia Schmid.

An assessment in the amount of $20.00 will be necessary to bring the policy fund back into balance to have payments on hand for other members in case of death. Please make this payment by the due date listed above.
