El personal solicita autorización para adquirir un terreno de 2 acres para mejorar las operaciones y el desarrollo en el Parque Estatal Post Oak Ridge.
I. Executive Summary: Staff requests authorization to acquire a 2-acre tract to improve operations and development at Post Oak Ridge State Park.
II. Discussion: The approximately 3,120-acre Post Oak Ridge State Park is located in Burnet and Lampasas counties and was recently purchased by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD). Efforts are ongoing to plan and develop this new state park. Staff prioritizes acquisition of nearby properties from willing sellers to minimize operational and management conflicts and enhance the conservation of TPWD public lands. Staff located a 2-acre tract near the new state park that contains a residence, which will help provide suitable housing for the new Park Superintendent.
III. Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission adopt the following motion:
“The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission authorizes the Executive Director to take all necessary steps to acquire from a willing seller approximately 2 acres in Burnet County near Post Oak Ridge State Park.”
