LPS_Hist_Locs_TSMS_102110.shp -- This shapefile was created from an MS Excel spreadsheet with coordinate data. The file was created in GCS NAD83 and then projected to NAD83 Texas Statewide Mapping System (TSMS). The file represents all known localities for the Louisiana Pine Snake (LPS). Records for the LPS without locality data are not included in the file.

TX_LA_boundaries.shp - This shapefile was created from the ESRI-data "States.shp" file available on the ESRI data media disk. The original file, GCS NAD83, was projected to TSMS.

If the project is stored somewhere other than the top level of the C drive, the correct symbology can be imported from the layer (*.lyr) files, which are named to correspond to each of the shapefiles.

Layer (*.lyr) files - There is a layer file corresponding to each shapefile in this folder/project. If the project is run from a location other than C:\LPS, symbology for each shapefile can be imported from its corresponding layer file.
