If you want to avoid poison ivy, you’ll need to know what it looks like. Leaves of three, leave them be! But it can be tricker than you think. Some plants, like poison ivy, can be easily confused with others. Come out to learn all about this fascinating, potentially problematic plant. You'll learn simple tips for correctly identifying poison ivy and get the chance to put your identification skills to the test under the guidance of a ranger during a short hike.
Trail distance: Approximately 0.5 miles (0.8 km) down Arrowhead Trail; relatively flat terrain.
Where: Meet at Arrowhead Trailhead.
Bring: Drinking water, sunscreen, bug spray. Please wear closed-toed shoes and weather appropriate clothing.
Cost: Free with paid park admission ($3 for per person 13 and older; 12 and under are free) or with a Texas State Parks Pass.
