The Living Dead Forest

It's been 14 years since the Bastrop County Complex fire burned through 96 percent of Bastrop State Park. While young loblolly pines, oaks and other vegetation has grown back, there is still lingering evidence of the destruction that happened. Are those trees really dead? Looks can be deceiving, come find out about our living dead forest for yourself! 

Meet at the playground in Bastrop State Park

Bring bottled water, wear closed toe shoes and weather appropriate clothing.
