Monsoon Magic Bird Hike
Fri, August 19, 2022
Witness the magical bird diversity created by afternoon rains and the beginnings of fall migration by joining a ranger on a guided hike to a lush oasis in the desert.
A rapid greening follows the afternoon rains, and many local birds delay nesting or nest a second time to take advantage of this short-term bounty. Mexican species often wander up from the south on the wet winds, while from the north come southbound migrants.
Join a ranger on a 1-mile hike and come view this special sample of birds visiting the park!
