Fishing 101 for All Ages

Learn all the basics of angling (fishing), practice casting with the backyard bass game, and fish in the Blanco River. A fishing license is not required. Instructions and all equipment are provided.

Ranger Rena will cover all the basics of angling (fishing) and participants will have the opportunity to practice casting using the backyard bass game.  Participants will also have time to try their luck at fishing after the instruction, with Ranger Rena available as needed. All fishing gear will be provided. However, poles are limited, so feel free to bring your own if you have one.  

• Meet:  Near the kayak launch area. 
• Bring:  Water, sunscreen, and a chair.
• Cost:   Free with an annual park pass or daily park pass. A daily pass is $5 for adults and youth ages 13 and over.  Children are free.
