Nature Journaling: Taking Time to Notice

1:00p to 2:30p

Ranger Rena

Join Ranger Rena for a guided nature journaling experience. This is not about how well you can write or sketch. It is about giving yourself the luxury of sitting in nature, noticing, and taking time to journal that unique-to-you experience.

Join us for a guided experience in nature journaling. Nature journaling is not about how well you can write or sketch; it is about a dedicated time to sit, relax, and focus on what you hear, see, and feel while sitting in nature; it is about taking time to really notice. Bonus: it's really good for your health!

We will have a small hike on a level trail of less than one-half mile where we will learn what nature journaling is. We will have time to begin a nature journal and time to share what we documented in our journal (sharing is optional). All journaling supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring your favorite supplies if you'd like to. No writing or artistic skills are required! All ages are welcome, but participants should be able to sit quietly and focus for an extended period of time.

Meet: At the head of the Pumphouse Trail
Bring:  Water and a chair if you'd like one (optional).  Journaling supplies are provided.    Cost:  Free with a paid annual or day park pass. A day pass is $5 for adults and youth over age 12. Children are free.
Registration: No registration is required for the event, but prior park reservations are strongly encouraged.
