Tales in Trees: The Story of the Bois d'Arc Hike

Come and join us for a hike that unfolds the story of the Bois d'Arc Trees in Bonham State Park that endures for generations!
During this program we will start with a short talk about the story that the Bois d’Arc Tree tells of Bonham State Park and the surrounding area. It is a story that endures for generations and is telling of this tree’s impact and utilization by a variety of peoples over the years and in modern times.
After our short talk, we will go on a hike to see a real Bois d’Arc Tree to cap off the experience!
We will also have a special guest who will have some examples of tools that were made from the Bois d’Arc Tree in the past and present!
Please remember to:
- Bring good closed-toed shoes for the hike
- Bring plenty of water and hydrate!
- Keep pet friends on a leash no longer than 6 feet.
- Have fun!!!
