The holidays are fast approaching, so why not usher in the holiday season with us?

You better check your stockings for alligators, because Santa has landed at Brazos Bend State Park!

The holidays are fast approaching, so why not usher in a bit of holiday spirit with us here at your favorite park? We will be hosting events all throughout the day at our Nature Center, so come on by and participate in the festivities!

Schedule of Events:

10AM-3PM: Home for the Paw-lidays – All of us like to spend the holidays at home with those we love, but some dogs don’t have the chance to have the same experience. You could make a difference in a dog’s life by stopping by the Nature Center and spending some quality time getting to know and exploring the park with a shelter dog. Meet us there to find a new furry best friend.

10AM-2:30PM: Blood Drive – Give the gift of life this holiday season by donating blood at Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center's mobile drive! The blood drive will be happening at the Nature Center parking lot and appointments can be scheduled here Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center - Donor Portal.

10AM: Bark Ranger Hike – Whether you've found your new forever friend or you've brought them along with you, nothing is quite as fun as exploring the outdoors with a good Bark Ranger by your side! Join us at the Nature Center to embark on a guided hike around Creekfield Lake.

11:30AM: Guerilla Gardening 101 – Combine a little bit of fertilizer, some clay, and some native seeds and what do you get? The easiest way to garden ever! Come by the Nature Center and help us as we learn how to make seed balls that will allow us to easily distribute native, flowering plants throughout the park. Available while supplies last.

1PM: Bark Ranger Hike –Whether you've found your new forever friend or you've brought them along with you, nothing is quite as fun as exploring the outdoors with a good Bark Ranger by your side! Join us at the Nature Center to embark on a guided hike around Creekfield Lake.

1:30PM: Daylight Stargazing – Stop by the Nature Center to learn a little about the thing all our lives constantly revolve around: the Sun! Use our telescope to study and observe the surface of the brightest star in our skies.

2PM: Guerilla Gardening 102 (Seed Distribution) – Can’t get enough of guerilla gardening? Well, making seed balls is only part of the fun! Join us at the Nature Center to distribute the seed balls we made earlier today and make a real, positive impact on the environment here at Brazos Bend State Park! Available while supplies last.
