Predators of the Pines - Guided Hike

Hit the trails with a Texas Master Naturalist and learn about survival characteristics of the wild!
Have you ever wondered why your cat's eyes glow in the dark? Or why dogs lick their nose? Learn the answers to these questions and more as we explore ways predators use adaptations to stalk their prey!
Meet at the Scenic Overlook parking area.
Find hike leader Benjamin wearing a Master Naturalist name tag either near a picnic table or near the large Trails Map Sign at the Scenic Overlook.
1 to 1.5 mile guided hike should last around an hour to an hour and a half.
Moderate hike with some elevation change, uneven terrain, and steps.
Please remember to:
- Wear close-toed shoes
- Bring a water bottle
There is no bathroom or water faucet at the Scenic Overlook. Please use the restroom and fill up water bottles at bathrooms located at the park playground or camp loops before driving up to the scenic overlook for the guided hike.
Program is free after park entrance fee's have been paid.
