Friday Night Summer Series

Almost every Friday night this summer we will be hosting an evening program! Come hang out with a ranger and learn about different topics from what critters come out at night to snake identification to the night sky!

July 29th: Stars Over Texas
The night sky is a beautiful natural resource, let's explore how to protect it and learn it's stories!
We will be making a planisphere to take home with you, learning about how to protect the night sky as a natural resource, and then learning about a couple of easy to find constellations and their stories.

August 5th: Creature Feature - Bats
Learn about some of the bats that live in our area and what roll they play in the ecosystem. We will be reading a story "Night Song" by Ari Berk, making a bat craft, and then learning about some of our local bats.

August 12th: Marvel at the Moon
Join us for an interactive program to help you learn more about the moon.
We will be making a planisphere to take home with you, listen to a moon creation story, make moon craters, learn about moon phases, and then learn how to take a closer look at it with binoculars at your campsite.

Meet: Recreation Hall in Buescher  - This location is Wheelchair accessible

Bring: Bottled water, wear closed toe shoes, wear or bring bug spray.

Program is free after park entrance fee is paid. Kids 12 and under are free.
