Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site is proud to host the Annual Juneteenth Heritage Celebration dedicated to the memory of Judge Eddie E. Harrison, who’s legacy looms large over the Brazos Valley. Judge Harrison was also a Veteran, Historian, Deacon and, in partnership with Washington-on-the-Brazos, he pioneered this commemoration in 2017 to honor the proud heritage and ancestry of the African-American community of Washington County. Join us as we celebrate Heritage and Freedom on the Brazos River.
