Caddo Forest Trail Hike

Kick off your holiday weekend by hiking with a ranger!

Explore our hiking trails with a ranger and see what you can discover along the way. You’ll learn how to identify different plants and help the ranger keep an eye out for wildlife like bugs and birds. Discover a bit of park history when we make a stop at the historic trail shelter built by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The best part about a walk in the woods is you never know what you might find. 

Trail Information: hiking distance is approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) and includes the CCC Cut-Through and Caddo Forest Trail. Hike requires walking up/down hills and stairs, and across uneven ground. All ages welcome. 

Where: Meet at Amphitheater

Bring: Drinking water, closed toe-shoes, sunscreen, bug spray, and weather appropriate clothing.

Cost: Free with paid park admission ($4 for per person 13 and older; 12 and under are free) or with a Texas State Parks Pass.
