Caddo Lake: Created by Nature, Controlled by Man

Just how was this East Texas treasure created? The answer is not so simple! Caddo Lake was created by a natural phenomenon, but over time it has been greatly altered by man.

•EXPECT: This traditional ranger talk discusses the origins and history of Caddo Lake.

•WHEN: We’ll begin promptly at 11AM and end at approximately 11:45AM.

•WHERE: Meet at the Amphitheater. Parking is located across the street next to the fishing pier. Please help us stop erosion by taking the stairs up to the amphitheater.

•WHAT TO BRING: Comfortable clothes and water. Don’t forget to put on sunblock and bug spray before you come out.

•COST AND FINE PRINT: Program is included in park entry fees- $4 per person ages 13 and older, 12 and under are free. No need to register, just show up! Programs are subject to cancellation in the event of inclement weather. Cancellations will be announced on Caddo Lake State Park Facebook page or you can call Park HQ.
