The Trees at Caddo Lake: A Scavenger Hunt

The trees at Caddo Lake State Park root humans and animals together! Walk along the Caddo forest trail for a tree ID scavenger hunt.

  • WHAT TO EXPECT: A 10 minute interpretive presentation, followed by a 50 minute long scavenger hunt through the Caddo Forest Trail. Visitors will be given a list of trees with short descriptions to help them on their scavenger hunt. The Caddo Forest trail is roughly one mile long and there are some stairs, however, the trees included in the scavenger hunt may be found on the flatter portions of the trail without stairs. The weather conditions will be warm and humid.
  • WHERE: Caddo Forest Trailhead across from the boat launch at 2:00 PM.
  • WHAT TO BRING: Bug Spray, Sun Screen, Closed toed shoes, and water.
  • COST AND FINE PRINT: Program is included in park entry fees- $4 per person ages 13 and older, 12 and under are free. No need to register, just show up! Programs are subject to cancellation in the event of inclement weather. Cancellations will be announced on Caddo Lake State Park Facebook page or you can call Park HQ.
