Veterans Mental Health Awareness Ruck Hike

Join us in support of our Veterans during our annual ruck hike!

This event aims to connect community partners with our veteran community and raise awareness of mental health struggles faced by veterans. Community members, veterans and their families, and local veterans' organizations are welcome to participate.

When: 9 - 11a

Where: Pine Ridge Trailhead

Trail Information: 1.25 mile total hiking distance. Hike will cover parts of the Pine Ridge Loop/Spur and Caddo Forest Trail. Expect changes in elevation, stairs, uneven ground, and narrow footpaths. 

What to bring:

Water
Bug Spray
Sun protection (sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, etc.)
Weighted Ruck Sack (optional)

Program is included in park entry fees- $4 per person ages 13 and older, 12 and under are free. *Entrance Fees Waived if Attending Ruck Hike*

Texas Parklands Passports are available to veterans, disabled veterans, active-duty service members, and Gold Star Family members.

No need to register, just show up! Programs are subject to cancellation in the event of inclement weather. Cancellations will be announced on Caddo Lake State Park Facebook page or you can call park headquarters.
