What's beneath the water at Caddo Lake?

Who lives beneath the water? Celebrate 100 years of Texas State Parks and join a park ranger to learn about the tiny critters that live in our lake!

  • EXPECT: Use dip nets to catch small aquatic insects and other animals, such as fish and tadpoles. All supplies are provided. Wear clothes that can get wet and muddy.
  • WHEN: We’ll begin promptly at 1:00PM and end at approximately 2:00PM.
  • WHERE: Day-use area near the boat launch.
  • WHAT TO BRING: Appropriate footwear and water. Wear clothes that can get wet or dirty. Please note, the water will be cold. Don’t forget to put on sunblock and bug spray before you come out.
  • COST AND FINE PRINT: Program is included in park entry fees- $4 per person ages 13 and older, 12 and under are free. No need to register, just show up! Programs are subject to cancellation in the event of inclement weather. Cancellations will be announced on Caddo Lake State Park Facebook page or you can call Park HQ.
