First Day Hike for Winter Birds

'Chirp' in the New Year with a hike to look for migrating birds and common winter residents! (Please note the change of meeting place.)

Join our interpretive park ranger for a stroll along Choke Canyon State Park’s trails and lake edge. Watch and listen for common and rare birds found here in the winter and during migrations. You are welcome to bring your own binoculars and bird identification book. Remember to dress appropriately for the weather!

When: Tuesday, January 1, 2019  10:00am-11:00am

Where to meet: Rock jetty next to the Calliham boat ramp

Length and difficulty of trail(s): Approximately 1.5 miles; Easy to Moderate

Who can come: Ages 6+ and friendly pets on a leash

What to bring: Weather-appropriate clothing, comfortable hiking shoes, water

This event is free to attend for campers and day users. Park entrance fee is $5 per person (13 years and up).
