Birding basics for beginning birders -
Birds can be identified by their shape, color, sound, and what they’re doing. You can find birds in your neighborhood, in the woods, or at the zoo.
Meet at the Gulls Bluff Pavilion at 9:30 a.m. to learn some bird watching basics. Bring your binoculars, water, sunscreen, and bird identification books.
Learn some tips to finding and identifying birds. Afterwards, we'll take a walk around the Gulls Bluff Day Use, looking for birds.
Cost: Park programs are open to the public and free with a paid park entrance fee of $5 per person ages 13 and up; children 12 and under are always free! Park entry is free with the Texas State Park Pass. No need to register—just show up!
