First Day Hike: Creatures of Cooper

Want to burn some holiday calories while exploring the great outdoors? Then join us to start the new year with a hike into the woods.

Come out and join us in celebrating the New Year with a hike on Coyote Run Trail through the hills and bottom lands surrounding Cooper Lake. This is an easy hike that is about one mile in length. We will observe the signs and sounds of nature while burning some of those holiday calories!

First Day Hike is a national initiative to get people outdoors and active. We will be joined by thousands of people from around the United States participating in this event. Make this a tradition for your family and “come hike with us”.

Meet: Coyote Run Trail Head in Heron Harbor

Bring: Drinking water, comfortable shoes, and dress for the weather.

Note: Park programs are open to the public and free with park entrance fee ($5 per person ages 13 and up; children 12 and under are always free!). No need to register -- just show up!
