Atlatl: Prehistoric Spear Throwing

Before the bow and arrow, there was the atlatl and dart. Join a park ranger to learn about this ancient hunting tool.

The atlatl is an easy tool to learn, but difficult to master. Give it a shot and become the prehistoric hunter you were born to be. 

Meet: Meet at the Cottonwood Picnic Area. 

Bring: Weather appropriate clothing, plenty of water, a hat, and sunscreen.

Fees: Program is free with paid park admission or Texas State Park Pass.
