Birding 101

Gain a "bird's eye view" of the park while learning about seasonal and migratory birds of the Davis Mountains.
Join park hosts Steve & Sue on a 1-mile birding walk between the Emory Oak and Interpretive Center bird blinds. You are sure to marvel at our colorful cast of winged characters. Steve & Sue will help you sharpen your bird identification skills, and share information about the habitat of the park. This walk typically takes 1.5 - 2 hours. Please register for this program by 4pm the day prior at the DMSP front office or call (432) 426-3337.
Meet: at the Emory Oak Wildlife Viewing Area
Bring: walking shoes, binoculars, water, hat, sunscreen
Cost: free with admission - daily entrance fee is $6.00/adult, or free for the carload with Texas State Park Pass
