Take an introductory deep dive into the Davis Mountains on this moderate walk 'n' talk.

Join a park volunteer (and master naturalist) on this 2-mile, moderate hike. As you take in the majestic views, learn about the interrelatedness of Davis Mountains history, geology, climate, flora, and fauna. This hike is on a rocky trail that includes steps and a 15-minute, steep incline. 

 

Meet: At the far end of Skyline Dr. by the CCC Rock Lookout (a 10-minute drive from headquarters)

Bring: Hiking shoes, water, hat, sunscreen, trekking poles (if needed)

Cost: Free for campers or day users w/ permit - daily entrance fee is $6.00/adult, or free for the carload with Texas State Park Pass
