Legacy of the CCC Hike

9:00a to 11:00a
Fri, June 26, 2026
Charlie Ewing
(432) 426-3337, x2123

Enjoy a morning hike on a trail that the CCC boys built during the 1930s and hear about their amazing impact.

Have you heard about the CCC? It was a Depression-era government program created during President Roosevelt's term in the 1930s. We can thank these young men for helping build many of our state parks, planting trees, and addressing conservation issues across the country. Come learn about their experience and impact at Davis Mountains State Park. This trail has some elevation gain and is rocky.

Meet: At the CCC Trailhead (parking lot across from site #47)

Bring: Hiking shoes, water, hat, sunscreen, trekking poles (if needed)

Cost: Free for campers or day users w/ permit - daily entrance fee is $6.00/adult, or free for the carload with Texas State Park Pass

*** Please see our current program flyers posted throughout the park, and on our Facebook page and Instagram page to confirm what programs are happening during your visit.
